STANDEX ESTABLISHES STRATEGIC PRESENCE IN INDIA WITH TEXTURIZING ACQUISITION

Standex International Corporation (NYSE:SXI) today announced that it has purchased the assets and intellectual property of privately-held Melco Engraving India Private Limited (MEIPL), a leading producer of mold textures, engraved rolls and plates in India. The acquisition will expand Standex’s international capability, strengthen the Company’s ability to service its global customers and present future growth opportunities for additional Standex products. The new business unit, Standex Engraving India Private Limited, will be categorized under Standex’s Engraving Group.

PROACTIVE CHANGES TO MOLD-TECH MICHIGAN PLANT SERVICES:

As of January 27, 2009 all texturing operations previously conducted at Mold-Tech MI will now be conducted at the Mold-Tech facility in Canada.
Mold-Tech MI will be continue to be operational with Tribocoat, Model-Tech, Sales and Program Management, Pattern Development Studio, and Engineering functions.
